About

Welcome to ETOWNHOCKEY!

A hockey discussion site with a specific focus on the Edmonton Oilers. Here at Etownhockey we are not fixated on a politically correct behaviour. We do not ban, delete, or moderate comments posted by registered users. Please read the rules before you begin.

Here you will experience a different vibe. Etownhockey brings you a no-nonsense honest observation. It's blunt, honest and a breath of fresh air in a world that continues to become more politically correct.

You're not always going to agree with the blogs, nor the people that populate this site. Frankly, we don't care, you have free range to express your own opinion. You can win the debates if you so desire, be the blog troll, the know it all prick or the level headed citizen who brings fact and knowledge. You can carve your identity, you'll soon find out we're a very tolerant bunch.

At the same time, we expect a level of respect towards others -  don't be afraid to share the love with your fellow people. Common sense is key to this site, as we are all fans of the game of hockey and share a common interest, remember that and acknowledge that.

Here is what you will find at etownhockey.com:

Blogs - Read it, love it or hate it, and leave a comment.

Pre-game coverage and Post game analysis - brought to you by our newest contributors and our friends of OilOverHaul.com

Banter - We offer a spot for fans to post their blogs or just a place for discussions. We also have a classifieds listing for users to sell their old stinky hockey gear or whatever else is lying around the house. It's all good.

Chat -  Chat is a place for live discussions. Please register with the name you wish to go by, it's best to use the same name you use for commenting in the blog spots. We don't need help being confused!

Raine's Snow Bunnies - Falling on the first Thursday of every month there will be a featured girl for Etowners. If you are interested in being a Snow Bunny please go to the contact page. Oh, and guys... we're not ambidextrous here at Etownhockey. Frolic those man muscles somewhere else.

What we need:

A steamy picture (send as many as you want)
Your name
Your hobbies
Your ambitions
And the sports teams you cheer for

And no worries, every entry is done in good taste and subject to your approval before posting.

Register: Registration is made simple. Our discussions boards are powered by Disqus. You can use your existing accounts from facebook, twitter, yahoo or register with Disqus and simply begin. OpenID is a way to comment anonymously, however, this method of commenting is susceptible to moderation.

What's with the ads on the site?

At the end of each and every month we will hold some form of contest. The small revenue the ads do bring in serve to support the contests, although they never do fully cover the cost.

Previous Winners:

a.n.a.18 - NHL 11 (Xbox 360)

Next contest will see an Oilers jersey.
